A not-so-secret love affair with yarn

Short Rows / Shadow Wraps

There is a post on Socktopus that blows my mind every time I see it. I keep stumbling on it and always think “oh man, that is the most brilliant thing! Don’t forget about it!”. So, of course, I always forget about it.

No more of that nonsense. I’m keeping a link right here so I can oogle the genius when ever I want. Go take a peek for yourself, you will likely not regret it.

Shadow Wraps

How lovely looking are those short rows? Pretty much the most lovely short rows ever.

  1. What a fantastic little trick! Cat Bordhi (again) does something similar with her sweet tomato heels, but she does the short rows the usual way and then creates the twin stitches by knitting into mama on the first full round. They also look very tidy. I think I like this way better, though, since all the work is done while actually creating the short rows and the first regular round is just smooth sailing!
